New for 2023 - we have added 100 mile and Trail routes!!!!

After gathering feedback from our 2022 participant survey, the CHQ Gran Fondo committee is very excited to announce the addition of a 100 mile route and a Trail ride.

The 100 mile (Century) route follows some of the same roads as the 60 mile route but extends southwesterly to Ripley before travelling along Lake Erie’s shores on NY Route 5, which is a designated bicycle route. After heading northerly for 20 miles, the route turns back toward Brocton and Westfield before making the climb back up to Hartfield. Near Westfield, this route joins the same roads as the 60 mile route. Once riders reach Hartfield, they have completed approximately 60 miles. The remaining route loops around Chautauqua Lake following the path of 40 and 60 mile riders.

The Trail route begins at Mayville Lakeside Park with the other routes. Leaving the park, riders will pedal alongside Chautauqua Lake on a paved path. After leaving the pavement, this route takes riders through fields, woodlands, and past farms as it crosses over multiple paved roads. This Rails-to-Trails route winds through peacefully quiet areas where you may see wildlife. Thanks to the trail following a former railway bed, this route is relatively flat and easy for riders of all abilities. In Brocton, there is a rest stop / aid station where riders can take a break and refuel before returning back on the trail in the opposite direction to complete the 25 mile route.
